What are some ways to deal with depression when therapy isn't an option?

I can't answer your question directly because I've always found help of one sort or the other.  If you were to try to go it yourself without any outside intervention I'm not sure how it would progress.  One critical point of therapy is to convince you to go towards something you may otherwise havers been avoiding.  I tend to think of depression as our mind's way of bringing issues we have been sliding under the table back out in front of us.    Hope you find your own way
