Food often has little or no taste. This has been the case for a year or so. Sometimes it seems like food only has texture. Or there is taste but it if off. And frequently I can't smell it either. When I cook I find myself asking someone else, does it smell right? I wonder if this is related to depression. Oh yes, another thing......sometimes, frequently I smell something that is not there. The one that has been most prevalent recently is perfume or something like a perfumey smell, strong. It's very unpleasant. Sometimes it is a smell like modeling clay, once it was melted butter, once grease like in a garage. When I say once I mean an incident that lasted for several days. I have read up on this kind of problem and it said this is more likely in older people and often has no known cause. I was just wondering if others, people who suffer depression, are more likely to have this odd experience.
