As a member, you are
subject to the terms of BTB Chat Guidelines, and other rules that we
publish from time to time. Users who violate the terms of our
Guidelines may permanently be banned from using Chat and/or the forum.
Please use common sense
when using ANY chat room or email. You would not share your full name
and address with a stranger you just met on the street, so please
don’t consider doing the same to someone you just met in a chat room.
This chat room is for
recovery purposes. If you're feeling suicidal, the need to self
injure, or in extreme crisis, this room is not for you. You need to be
on the phone calling 911 or your local suicide or crisis hot line.
Discussing suicide is extremely upsetting to everyone in the room.
Please remember this is a
support room of people who cannot substitute for your Therapist or
Psychiatrist. If talking with others in the room is not helping, our
best advice is for you to contact your Therapist or Psychiatrist. You
may discuss your own personal experiences with the understanding that
everyone will have a different experience.
We don't tolerate
harassment, expressions of bigotry, hatred, abuse or threats of harm
to anyone. Any chat room behavior which can be considered threatening
or harassing in nature is strictly forbidden.
Our chat room is
unmoderated so let's keep it friendly. We cannot guarantee the
content of comments that you will receive while you are online. Other
people's comments may be offensive, harmful and/or inaccurate. We
reserve the right to immediately terminate or suspend access to our
chat room for conduct that we believe interferes with other peoples'
enjoyment.
Stalking of others, on our website or in other manners, is a serious
offense. In many areas, such behavior is considered to be a criminal
act and isn’t tolerated here.
IP's and information is logged and viewable by administrators and
moderators, so you may be reported to your ISP if we feel it is
necessary.
This site is tolerant of
all religious beliefs, however, this chat room is not the appropriate
place to discuss any one religion. You may use simple terms such as "I
will pray for ****" But there are other places on the internet for
these discussions.
Lurking (being in the
chat room but not speaking for very long periods of time) is allowed
but please be respectful and advise others in the room of your
intent.
